Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo is the 2nd most popular Stud poker variant, 2nd only to standard 7 Card Stud poker. This card game is known by many different names, a complete list can be found at the bottom of this page. This Seven Card Stud H/L guide contains articles written by several respected Stud High Low players and of course myself. Since you are here you are most likely looking for one of two things, the rules of 7 Card Stud H/L or Stud Hi-Lo strategies and tips. You will find information on both of these topics below. If you know how to play 7 Card Stud or Razz poker this game will come naturally to you. If you have played Omaha H/L before this experience will also be a huge asset at the Stud H-Lo tables. In any event the articles below will teach you how to play 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo, and play it well.

As I have mentioned elsewhere on this web site I only promote the best of the best. For a poker room to qualify as a good place to play Stud Hi-Lo it has to have high 7 Card Stud HL traffic, an outstanding reputation and provide an excellent overall poker experience. I have noticed, and you may have to, that my competition lists poker rooms that have virtually no active Stud H/L tables. I do not feed my readers BS to earn an extra buck because if I did no one would ever come back to my web site. Talk is cheap though so I have taken a screen shot of the Stud H/L tables at each room. These screen shots were taken on a weekday, during peak hours in January of 2010. The screen shots are quite large so I have added links to them below to prevent them from making this page load slow.
The Stud Hi-Lo poker rooms listed below each have steady real money ring table traffic around the clock at a variety of stakes. Each of these rooms boasts strong traffic at the small and medium stakes tables but if you prefer stakes $5/10+ I would suggest either Poker Stars of Full Tilt Poker. You'll be able to find plenty of heads-up Stud HL action ($10/20 - $100/200) at Absolute Poker but not much in regards to full ring tables. Absolute Poker has a huge Stud 8/b community when compared to their overall traffic. For example, Full Tilt peaks at around 130,000 players and Absolute Poker peaks at only 35,000. Most would assume that Full Tilt has roughly 3-4 times more Stud HL traffic than Absolute Poker but they are actually fairly even. This isn't because FTP has low Stud HL traffic, it is because Absolute Poker has high Stud HL traffic. U.S. players are welcome at all three of these poker rooms.

As I mentioned above I do not BS my readers. Claiming a room has "great 7 Card Stud H/L" action is pretty easy but proving it is even easier, if you are telling being honest. The links below will open up a new page with a screen shot of the 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo tables at each respective poker room.
If you tend to prefer Stud HL tournaments over ring table action you really only have two choices, Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker. Both offer a wide range of daily tournaments with a huge guaranteed event every week. The 7 Card Stud HL sitngo action is fairly active but is usually restricted to the $1.20 - $22 range buy-in range. Below is a summary of the weekly guaranteed Stud Hilo tournament at each room.
