  • Mini FTOPS 7 Card Stud 8/b Results

    December 17th, 2009 by admin

The Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series has been running since the 9th of December. This post will cover the results for the Stud 8/b tournament. The event was the $20+2 7 Card Stud 8/b event which ran on December 11th. This event had a $30,000 GTD prize pool which was surpassed by over $10,000. This is one of the largest 7 Card Stud H/L tournaments in recent history and there were plenty of Full Tilt Pros at the tables.

2,092 players signed up for this event and 256 of them cashed in a peice of the $41,840 prize pool. From start to finish this Stud 8/b tournament was an exhausting 9 hours long. I can’t even imaging playing for that long, especially a split pot game.  Here are the results for the top 10 finishers:

    1. vmendi123 - $7,949
    2. TheKunkMaster - $4,895
    3. Bklyn4life - $3,347
    4. MalaParis - $2,259
    5. skinnyriver - $1,548
    6. key123 - $1,046
    7. Donkeysrule0 - $711
    8. Andreasice - $510
    9. Ken_DoG_819 - $367
    10. TheFatFISH- $367

As many of you know when you knock a Red Pro out of a tournament you will receive the buy-in back as a bonus. There were 11 total Full Tilt Pros in this 7 Card Stud H-L tournament and overall they did well. 5 out of 11 finished in the money while mathematically only 1 out of eight players on average should. This was one of the better tournaments for Red Pros. In the H.O.R.S.E poker event (#14) none of the 20 Red Pros cashed.  Here is a breakdown on which professional players played in this event and how they finished:

    • Berry Johnston - 12th
    • Esther Rossi - 20th
    • Roy Winston - 64th
    • Alan Boston - 81st
    • S Gromenkova - 153rd
    • Aaron Bartely - 505th
    • Scott Fischman - 544th
    • Michael Craig - 753rd
    • BrunoStefaneli - 986th
    • Artie Cobb - 1681st
    • David Bradely - 1918th

Upcoming Razz Poker Tournament (Event  #21) - Tomorrow!

The Razz poker tournament in the Mini FTOPS will be held on the 18th at 21:00 ET. The host for this event will be Frank Thompson and the guaranteed prize pool is set at $30,000. There are only 216 players currently registered and with a $30+3 buyin there is currently a $23,000 overlay for this event! Surely this number will go down considerably before the tournament starts but I am still predicting an overlay ranging from $5,00-10,000.

Where Is The 7 Card Stud Mini FTOPS Event?

For some reason Full Tilt Poker has decided not to include 7 Card Stud in their Mini FTOPS line-up. The reason behind such an oversight has eluded me. Stud is a very popular game at Fulltilt and their standard 7 Card Stud tournaments always bring in a lot of players.

As a 7 Card Stud player I feel like the fat kid that never gets picked in sports. Out of 25 events Texas Hold’em accounts for 17 of them, in different formats of course (6 max, NL, FL, Turbo..ect). They couldn’t replace one of these repetitous Holdem tournaments with a Stud tournament to include all of the major games?

In last year’s Mini FTOPS they offered a $20+2  Card Stud tournament and it had a turnover of 1,908 players. I have written Full Tilt an email about this and will make  a new post about it when they reply. It probably won’t accomplish much but it is better than nothing. I just can’t believe they would not include Stud in their line-up. I will keep you posted.
