Pokerstars will be hosting their annual SCOOP tournaments soon. SCOOP means “Spring Championship of Online Poker” and this years tournament line-up consists of 114 tournaments, with a total GTD prize pool of $45,000,000! This post will provide an overview of the first Stud poker event in the 2010 Pokerstars SCOOP line-up.
Poker Stars has designed these events so that anyone can enter, even microstakes players. Each event is divided into three sections:
This format enables everyone to have a chance to take home the title, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars!
This tournament will start at 17:00 ET on May 5th. The buy-in is $33 and the tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $25,000. This is the perfect tournament for the micro-small stakes 7 Card Stud poker player.
The buy-in for this tournament is $320 so you better read our 7 Card Stud tournament strategy article before signing up. The guaranteed prize pool is $50,000. The playing field is predicted to be quite small, an overlay is also very possible. If $320 isn’t in your bankroll, you can win a seat via the numerous satellites and feeders.
This will be the largest 7 Card Stud tournament so far in 2010. The buy-in is $3,150 and the GTD prize pool is $100,000. I am predicting a huge overlay for this event. The event only needs around 31 players to reach the prize pool but not many people have three grand laying around for a Stud poker tournament. I will be competing in this event, regardless of how many players are in it. I’ll first attempt to to win a seat via satellites but if all else fails I will shell out the $3,150 and represent 7cardStudStrategy.com at the tables.
